DESCRIPTION:
This video recounts five scientific ways a Zombie apocalypse could actually happen. All the usual suspects are their including Neurotoxins, as used historically by Vodou Bokors, fungal infections and mind-altering parasites. The interesting one, for me, is nanobots - the extremely tiny robots that, the media keeps telling us, will one day be in our bodies. It's actually disturbingly obvious that these miniscule machines could eventually cause the dead to walk - after all, if they were implanted into a human body to help keep that person "alive", why would they simply stop doing their job when the person naturally expired; their heart, no longer beating? Also, and here's a deeply unsettling thought, what if a nanobot, inside you only for a few seconds, during an operation or to eradicate virus cells from your body, malfunctioned or did something unexpected, a mere side-effect of faulty programming? Suddenly, the end of civilization, seems just that little bit closer.
