DEAD ARE COMING...

"Zombie news" refers to any news story that relates to Zombies; updates on Zombie games from official sources, announcements of coming Zombie movies, even warnings of impending doom as the Zombie infection spreads across the world. Here I'll list the lot with a BITEsize description of each to get the point across in as few words as possible - with reports of the living dead prowling the streets, time is a valuable resource. Also, in this undead world, conflicting and unconfirmed reports are rife. These unactionable missives will be stamped as rumours and must be taken under advisement only.

The only advantage (if there can really be any advantage) in tackling a foe such as the living dead is that - in most cases - they move slowly, allowing time for strategic plans to be laid out. If expected news does not appear immediately, don't panic - efficient thinking is key in this unholy war and it is often wise to stay your hand until the opportune moment.

	A surprise teaser trailer for the rebooted Return of the Living Dead movie has landed - you can watch over on YouTube. While the teaser is short, we do get a first look at the new design for Tarman - the legendary Zombie that defines the franchise.

	The first trailer for long-awaited Zombie/Infected movie is finally here - you can catch it on YouTube.
	28 Years Later plot details & official poster	06/12/2024
	28 Years Later, the long-awaited continuation of the 28 Days Later franchise, has recently got its plot revealed, courtesy of actor Ralph Fiennes. "Britain is 28 years into this terrible plague of infected people who are violent, rabid humans with a few pockets of uninfected communities. And it centers on a young boy who wants to find a doctor to help his dying mother. He leads his mother through this beautiful northern English terrain. But of course, around them hiding in forests and hills and woods are the infected. But he finds a doctor who is a man we might think is going to be weird and odd, but actually is a force for good.". This synopsis suggests, to me, that the 3rd film in the series will retcon the events of 28 Weeks Later but nothing official has been stated. In addition a movie poster has been revealed.
	New House of the Dead movie adaption announced	11/03/2024
	Almost 20 years after Uwe Boll's disasterous attempts at turning arcade shoot'em'up game House of the Dead into a movie, a new version has been announced, this time being directed by the talented Paul W. S. Anderson. Anderson is no stranger to adapting video games for the big screen with hits such as the entire Resident Evil franchise, Alien vs. Predator and the original Mortal Kombat under his belt. Anderson has also given some clues as to the film's direction; "We're going to base the movie on House of the Dead 3, and if you know the mythology that is all about family conflict, amidst the action and scares. It's about a woman, Lisa Rogan, who's attempting to rescue her father. And it's also about Daniel Curien, who's the son of the man who caused this mutant outbreak in the first place and who has to deal with the sins of the father.". "This is a full-on terror ride."
	Twilight of the Dead updates	03/11/2024
	Twilight of the Dead, what was to be George A. Romero's final installment in the of the Dead franchise before his tragic death in 2017, has gained some footing on the road to release recently. Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich and Upgrade's Betty Gabriel will take the two leading roles in the film. Greg Nicotero and his KNB EFX group will be heading up the creation of all the Zombies and gore. Greg Nicotero is known for his amazing work on George Romero's Day of the Dead, The Walking Dead and the Creepshow tv series.
	The Last of Us season 2 gets second teaser trailer	26/09/2024
	The second teaser trailer for season 2 of the mega-hit TV show The Last of Us has just dropped on YouTube - you can watch it here. As is obvious from this glimpse into the action, the second season of the TV show will cover the events of the second game.
	Dead Season launches on October 8th	17/09/2024
	The single-player focused, turn-based game where you control a group of four random survivors as they fight their way through a Zombie apocalypse, launches October 8th on PC. To survive the undead that have overrun the world you must; scavenge for resources, improvise weapons, complete objectives and devise strategies. Throughout your journey, each survivor will 'level up', becoming more experienced at battling the undead, unlocking new skills and abilities. There are 16 missions in total but, be warned, Zombies are not the only threat in this hostile new world. Also, make too much noise and an entire horde of the dreaded dead will descend on your location. There is a launch trailer for the game over on YouTube.
	Dead Island 2 gets horde mode and ultimate edition	16/09/2024
	Dead Island 2 is getting a horde mode in the latest patch, which relases free of charge on October 22nd. This horde mode, entitled Neighborhood Watch, sees players taking control of the Bobcats, a trio of College students. The group must protect their frat house from increasingly difficult waves of Zombies. To help, there are a whole new set of skills, weapons and, for the first time in the game, traps. Accompanying the new mode is "New Game Plus". This new mode re-balances the single-player campaign with new challenges and rewards plus an additional skill slot and increased level cap. Still haven't bought the game? Well that's ok as, also on October 22nd, a standalone Ultimate Edition of the game is being launched. This mega-version includes all released DLC, including the two major story packs, and the all-new Kingdom Come: Deliverance II weapon pack.
	Night of the Dead Simulator now available	12/09/2024
	Zombie-shooter game Night of the Dead Simulator is now available on PlayStation with Xbox Series, Steam and Switch releases to follow very soon. The game sees you mow down the undead with various weaponry as the sole survivng soldier from DELTA team. You've got 17 square kilometers of ground to explore, filled with destroyed towns, derelict military bases, run-down cabins and communication points. You can play in either third-person or a unique bodycam POV.
	No More Room in Hell 2 gets Early Access trailer	25/08/2024
	Multiplayer Zombie slaying game, No More Room in Hell 2, has been given an intense new trailer that you can watch over on YouTube. It has also been confirmed by the developers that No More Room in Hell 2 will launch into Early Access this Halloween. The plan, according to the devs, is to stay in Early Access for atleast a year in order to make the game the best it can be. "Our goal for the full version is to have additional gameplay features and content that will round out the game experience, along with new maps, customization, firearms, melee weapons, tools, storylines and more.".
