A mismatched group of civilians, scientists and the military are forced to live and work together in an underground bunker as they hunt for a cure to the Zombie plague that has overrun mankind.
For all you folks wanting a successful remake of George Romero's classic Day of the Dead, I'm sorry to say this second attempt is no better than the first. Now that might not seem too bad - it is a big ask to capture the magic of the original (possibly the second best Zombie movie ever made) - but this is beyond a dire reimagining, it is a downright tragedy that is a blemish on the Zombie legacy. For a start, the acting is terrible, particularly the military base leader who is obviously meant to be an argumentative Captain Rhodes type character. Next, we come to the story which is close enough to the original to ensure a trickle of entertainment yet the misguided differences quickly snuff out the positives. For example, there is still the bickering between the scientists and military groups about how to combat the Zombie menace but this time the world seems far from overrun - in fact there are hardly any Zombies seen in this Zombie movie (they are the modern, fast, running kind to replace the slow, stumblers of yesteryear). There is a semi-intelligent Bub-type Zombie to boot. He is named Max and is a so-called 'half-Zombie'; literally, some of his body parts are still alive and healthy while others are dead, rotting glands. He is also a former rapist so you are going to hate him from the get-go (seriously, who thought this was a good idea?). Then there is the films ending which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever - I don't want to spoil it for anyone who might actually care but it will leave you with a fairly major question that undermines the entire movie. I could go on with even more negatives though there is no need; this movie is awful, do not watch it.
