DESCRIPTION:

Mack Stone is trying to teach his son, Jesse, to be a survivalist and a "real man". However, Jesse is having none of it - survivalism is just not cool enough for the hip 17-year-old. When the dead rise and start attacking the living, can these two see eye-to-eye, overcoming their differences to stay alive in a hostile world?

MY VERDICT:

How To Kill A Zombie should probably be retitled as "How to waste an hour and a half of your life" - it really is that bad. The negatives come thick and fast; it is clearly very low budget, the acting is abysmal, the jokes it tells and the comical missteps of the characters are just not funny, there is next to no story with the rise of the living dead hidden away behind the opening credits and the entire movie lacks any sort of originality, opting for a Zombieland "ways to kill a Zombie" theme - and failing at even that. Given all this - I even thought of quitting the movie and watching something else after just the first ten minutes - you'll be surprised to learn that the film does have a singular plus point. Towards the end of the movie, there are hordes of Zombies - I mean truly astounding numbers for such a cost-limited production - and these are proper slow-moving, Romero style Zombies; not the modern, overused sprinters. Still, this one positive is nowhere near enough to make up for the tiresome rest of the movie; avoid How To Kill A Zombie at all costs.
