Three scouts and a stripper attempt to save their town from a dreaded Zombie uprising and, in the process, discover the true meaning of friendship.
Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse is a very strange action-comedy movie that seems to have been put together in a hurry with basically no story other than the 'Scouts vs. Zombies' mantra. For a start, the Zombies just turn up with no explanation - in fact, the first living dead is already ready for his next meal when the movie opens - and when the small initial horde does break out, the whole town becomes overrun with infected, the surviving populace evacuated, in the blink of an eye, all totally unseen. Also, I say "Zombies" but the enemies are clearly not the undead at all - Zombies do not calmly stroll through restrooms, checking each cubicle for their hidden prey, smiling menacingly when the reach the final one and they certainly don't entice in the living by pole dancing! Of course, the so-called Zombies do these things for added humour, and the movie is quite funny though most of the jokes rely on woeful clichés - zombie-deer, fart-jokes and adolescent teenagers desperate for sex, that sort of thing. There are a few highlights; there is a Zombified Cop who is constantly firing his weapon at nothing in particular as he stumbles around in circles (hilarious) and the intro scene is also very funny. However, this is one film I would miss - as Zombie comedies go, there are far better options available.
