In 2014, the common cold had been cured, cancer was no more, the world was idyllic - unless you counted the hordes of Zombies that the "cure" accidentally unleashed. However, "the Rising", the start of the Zombie plague, did not spell the end for humanity - they survived, learning to live with the ever-lasting undead presence. Twenty years pass, and bloggers have become the dominant source of news - traditional media subject to law and censorship. Georgia and Shaun Mason - two little league bloggers - have just found the story of their lives, propelling them to greatness. Such a quick rise to power is never free though. A dark conspiracy lurks within that has the potential to bring about their end if they do not tread carefully.

MY VERDICT:

This rather lengthy text focuses a lot more on the journalists and the group of bloggers than Zombies. The Zombies are, very much, a background threat and do not actually play a major role in the book. This is probably the only way a post-apocalyptic Zombie book with still functioning towns and Internet blogs could go but I felt a bit disappointed when coming to the end. On the flipside, it is a good read and entertaining throughout, especially if you are "into" journalism or technology. So while I would not recommend it for hardcore Zombie fans, I would say it is worth a look.
