"Zombie news" refers to any news story that relates to Zombies; updates on Zombie games from official sources, announcements of coming Zombie movies, even warnings of impending doom as the Zombie infection spreads across the world. Here I'll list the lot with a BITEsize description of each to get the point across in as few words as possible - with reports of the living dead prowling the streets, time is a valuable resource. Also, in this undead world, conflicting and unconfirmed reports are rife. These unactionable missives will be stamped as rumours and must be taken under advisement only.
The only advantage (if there can really be any advantage) in tackling a foe such as the living dead is that - in most cases - they move slowly, allowing time for strategic plans to be laid out. If expected news does not appear immediately, don't panic - efficient thinking is key in this unholy war and it is often wise to stay your hand until the opportune moment.
Has my regular base defence maintenance caused me to miss a news story? Head over to the Contact page to get that potentially vital transmission to the frontline before the ravenous hordes bare down upon the remnants of civilization.

New Zombie strategy game announced | 04/04/2024
Netherlands-based developer, Snail Bite, have put a trailer up on YouTube announcing their new turn-based strategy Zombie game, Dead Season. In it, you'll lead a desperate group of survivors through a Zombie apocalypse; battling both dead and living, scavenging items, learning new skills and planning movements. You'll need to keep things as quiet as possible to not alert additional threats, potentially even more lethal than regular deadheads. Dead Season is due out later this year for PC.
Resident Evil hits landmark sales milestone | 14/03/2024
Since the very first Resident Evil game went on sale back in 1996, the entire franchise has amassed a mind-boggling 154 million units sold (and that's just the games; the franchise covers multiple movies, books and comics which are not included in this astronomical figure). Capcom has responded, stating the reason for the, well-deserved, huge sales is due to "continuous support from the passionate fan base across the globe" for the publisher's "flagship game series".
[RumourControl] Z Nation may return | 13/03/2024
The Asylum, the company behind the former hit Zombie-comedy show Z Nation, went on Twitter (or X) recently to say "major announcement soon" from the world of "Z Nation". What that could be is unclear. SyFy cancelled the show in 2018 so a sixth season seems unlikely after a six year break. The company's Netflix-show, Black Summer, does take place in the Z Nation universe but, if memory serves, Netflix cancelled this show after its second season.

Yes, Techland (the developers of the original game) are teaming up with seasoned board game creators, Glass Cannon Unplugged, to bring the digital undead extravaganza to tabletop. However, they need your help over on Kickstarter to get the project off the ground.
